How many children have been conceived with this piece playing. Took years to find this masterpiece (because I don't know the title) and now my lifetime wish has been achieved. Finally found you. Thank you Maurice and thank you digimon <3. They played this at my school in Mexico City when we graduated from elementary to junior high. Hamilton School, Lomas de Chapultepec, 1967. Ahhhh his Preludes! True, true he is a bridge between romantic piano and jazz. <3 ER MAH GURD CAN'T EVEN. Not once was the tempo increased, only the volume. Musical genius! Love RIB. AFTER  ABOVE 100 YEARS GERSHWIN IS STILL FRESH AND CLASSIC AT THE SAME TIME-ISNT IT A MAGIC. Gershwin likes Chopin music and tecnic. He is a bridge between romantic piano and jazz piano.

No one to replace him. Watching Sky Castle reminded me of this piece and now I can't stop thinking about a certain father who's obsessed with a pyramid whenever I listen to this, I absolutely love it. Un americà a París és un dels musicals més brillants i espectaculars de la història del cinema i va ser merescudament guardonat amb sis Oscars, incloent-hi el de millor pel·lícula. Dirigida per Vincente Minnelli, la història romàntica de Jerry Mulligan (Gene Kelly), un pintor americà a París, que s’enamora de Lise Bouvier (Leslie Caron), la promesa del seu bon amic Henri Baurel (George Guétari) és el fil argumental per a una pel·lícula encantadora, amb una brillant coreografia de Gene Kelly i la música i cançons de George Gershwin, que es podran escoltar de manera espectacular, en la seua interpretació en directe per una orquestra simfònica amb més de 60 músics en l’escenari. An American painter, Jerry, lived in Paris, and his patroness had been in one-side love with him. But he fell in love with a mysterious woman, Lise.
Honestly I couldn't expect and accept the end itself. Nevertheless the artwork of an imagenary sequence in the last half was so amazing! Particularly, I was impressed with the scene of solo concert! I know everyone needs his ideal and perfection. Otherwise, he cannot chase his dream. I fully expected to greatly enjoy this film as I did with Singin' in the Rain, but, I was disappointed. First the good: Gene Kelly's dancing is masterful and the energy he brings to a film is unmatched, even to this day. Leslie Caron is also superb in her dance performances. I enjoyed both Levant's acting and musical numbers as well.
Now the bad: The acting is comically wooden. The story is paper-thin, disjointed and at times senseless. Some characters don't really have any real resolution to their issues (poor Milo! and how can Henry look so happy when he brings back Lise at the end. I can give a pass to most of this in a musical, but the interminably-long (18 minutes) voiceless, seemingly-random interpretive dance / ballet number at the end of the movie is just such an oddball way to end a movie that I was left a little pissed off at wasting so much of my time.

One of the best movies ever. You don't even have to watch it, just buy the DVD/tape, play it and just listen to the music. The more I watch this movie, the better it is. I can find no fault with this film whatsoever, other than the fact that the DVD version I have is not in letterbox (widescreen) but I don't think the original movie was filmed that way. Beautiful music and simply adore Gershwin jazz. Gran musical en versión concierto. Digimon Adventure The Movie opening song 😁. Marvellous. I gotta listen to more of this dude's stuff. Totally rad tunes. As a drummer, yes. the snare is the nuts n' bolts of this wonderful piece. But a ton of credit has to go to each and every instrument mirroring the triplets - note for note - for much of the second half. Powerful. Momentum set to music.

Can someone post the correct tracklist if it is incorrect? D. One of my favorites... This sounds like a Yamaha piano. I remember my dad first put this on while we were in the car and I was wondering what it was at first. He told me and my sisters a funny story that his mother had this on one of those old recorders and she would be knitting and she'd fall asleep at the middle and if dad kept the music on she would sleep through the loud finale but if he turned it off she would immediately wake up and yell at him for turning it off. Also I'm getting off topic here but this just came to mind, this would make excellent marching music.

This composition is a precestor of psychedelic rock. Great stuff. Lovely music that can be heard over and over again. fantastic. Thanks for sharing. If humanity gets credit for anything in the future, with future generations, aliens, archaeologists, or God, it will be because it somehow made sounds like these sounds. I think heaven must have a special entry for composers and musicians, like the first-class entry at the airport terminal. I'm learning to play the blues harp in middle age just in case. I was an hour late to work one morning because this came on the radio. I was a court reporter at the time, and court had started. Too bad. This had to be listened to. I have never regretted stealing those 15 minutes.
